2353 has been in Ystrad Mynach since the late 1960’s. The years have passed quite quickly for us as we continue to provide young men and women with practical training which we hope will be useful in later life.

Our mission mirrors the motto of the Air Training Corps: "Venture, Adventure".

Air Cadets, aged 13 to 20, get the opportunity to participate in a large range of stimulating and rewarding activities. Where else could you learn to fly aerobatics, visit Royal Air Force Stations, tour foreign countries, play sports from local to International level, learn the skills to lead expeditions, become a target shooting marksman, gain your Duke of Edinburgh's Awards, assist your community, learn aviation subjects, go caving, parachute, climb, sail, ski.

The opportunity exists for cadets over 16 to fly a glider solo after the requisite training and therefore "put their wings up".

There is no obligation to join the Royal Air Force but many Air Cadets do go on to do so, finding their ATC training useful during their Basic Service Training.
